About

Daniel Morfesis

From a young age, Daniel Morfesis was immersed in cinema of all types, watching blockbusters, genre, foreign, and independent. Seeing how film could transport us to new places and experiment with storytelling, he became movie obsessed. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in English & Film Studies from Rutgers University before moving to Los Angeles, where he found his calling in the editing room.

Daniel edited the acclaimed documentaries Citizen Jane: Battle for the City and Scotty and the Secret History of Hollywood before transitioning to scripted work. He’s supported Joi McMillon, ACE, on If Beale Street Could Talk, Zola, and the Peabody Award-winning series The Underground Railroad. He edited an episode of the series and the companion film, The Gaze, exhibited at the California African American Museum and the Museum of the Moving Image. Most recently, he was the Animatic Editor on Mufasa: The Lion King, directed by Barry Jenkins.
